Addressing the California Democratic National Convention, Barack Obama goes over much of the autobiographical material that was now familiar to his bedrock supporters by way of introducing himself to the much wider audience Obama had gained since announcing his intention to run for the party’s nomination. Known as the Obama ‘Turn the Page’ speech – he employs the phrase 15 times – it is here that Obama first uses the expression: ‘When I am President…’.
